It's a wetherspoons so obviously well priced. Serving staff are very friendly. Food is good and is quite quick to be served. They have a wheelchair lift. It has a hotel attached and is in the middle of the town centre. Not great for parking.
As Wetherspoons go, this is definitely one of the better ones, and as good a place as any if you fancy a well priced drink if you're in the Town Centre. Don't really bother with the food, but can see enough people who do and seem to enjoy it, and generally use the app when ordering drinks. Never had any complaints with the service. Sometimes cleanliness can be a bit of an issue but that's as much on ignorant people as it is the pub itself.
Beyond all conceivable expectations. Good restaurant and bar, with a wide range, friendly and service-minded staff, location very central. Highly recommended, it was our first but certainly not the last time we visit this hotel.
i am a regular at the The Guildhall & Linen Exchange wetherspoons and as an avid drinker i’ve got to say it’s the best spoons i’ve visited in the country! the staff señor Saul and gaffer Graeme have the best customer service i have experienced in a long time my pint is always served with a smile 10/10 will see yous every friday my favourite table is no 30 top quality table i would reserve if i could. only criticism i have is it needs a dj on a friday and a saturday night to get the people goin! all my love kirsty tuffter and daniel
Parking is a big disappointment and all local car parks seem to be at bottom of hills very clean rooms that have plenty of space breakfast was poor for a wetherspoons very greasy but hotel was value for 2 night stay
Very comfortable bed and quilts, as its a herirage building floors are squeaky. Food okay, was only warm, other than that cheap and chearfull.
This was a superb pub to stop off for a drink, with a very bright interior throughout! The lightbulb around the table is encircled and the lines appear modern on the walls, counter continues the brightness and features inspirational phrases too. Had a pint of Leffe and the table is very smooth along with its lighting, seating is cosy too!
We were pleasantly surprised by our stay! This was our first time staying at a Spoons hotel. The room was very large with super comfortable beds. The housekeeping staff was prompt every day and did a fabulous job. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Location is perfect, located right in the middle of the High Street. Only downside is noise on the weekend, but what else would you expect from staying above a pub? It was only a minor inconvenience. We’re so glad we stayed here :)
